Providing Freedom, Flexibility, and Portability to Entrepreneurs Since 2006
Ed began to show an affinity for running his own business while growing up in the Texas summer sun. He was earning money by the time he was 10 years old. It started by helping a neighbor take out her garbage and cutting her yard every week. With the strong work ethic instilled in him by his father and competitive drive developed during years of playing sports, it was no surprise when he started his own landscape business at the tender age of 13 and quickly secured agreements for several other yards in the neighborhood, as well as a contract to maintain the grounds of the entire subdivision.
Within two years a bank president, who lived in the subdivision and enjoyed his work, offered him a contract to provide landscape management for his bank property; 20 miles away. His business had grown to a point that he had to invest in a company truck, despite the fact he didn’t have a drivers’ license yet, which his father drove to transport him and the company-owned equipment to the job sites in his hometown of Houston, Texas. “I learned valuable lessons as a young entrepreneur that have been the basis for which I have run all my businesses,” Ed remembers. “I also realized the importance of financial independence, and I knew it’s what I wanted for my life.”
After college, he and his father partnered up to open an agricultural supply company, going to many area trade shows and events to grow their business. For more than a decade, the company flourished. Soon, Ed could let his dad continue to run the company while he moved to Dallas/Fort Worth; Texas’ own “Silicon Valley”. There, he was able to break into the computer industry. While working for other technology companies, Ed saw tremendous growth potential in the niche market of Government and Education. He decided to capitalize on the explosion of the computer industry and open his own technology company to cater to those “secure money” markets.
At first, he worked out of his garage with only his wife, Tonya, as an employee, but soon grew the company to more than a dozen employees, two locations and millions in annual revenue. He wasn’t just reselling someone else’s products; he hired some of the industry's finest technicians and manufactured his own company’s branded computers and shipping them to hundreds of school districts, universities, and government agencies across the country.
While success does have it's perks, the stress of running such a large company was taking its toll on his family. The eighty and ninety-hour workweeks stole precious time with their three children. So, after six years, they sold the company in order to have more time with their family. He then took a “J-O-B” as a college administrator and his wife Tonya accepted a "J-O-B" at Texas A&M Research Foundation, and went back to school part-time to pursue her dream of becoming an equine specialist.
But, as Ed found out a year later, he was not meant to leave the future of his family in the hands of someone else. Even though he was doing well, he was informed that budget cuts at the college made it necessary for them to eliminate his position which meant he had three months before his contract expired. You could say that Ed saw “the writing on the wall”, and decided he would never again allow someone else to control his destiny. He had to find a way to earn a living that would support his family and help provide for their future. However, now his desire was focused on spending more time with his family, so he began the difficult task of locating a legitimate online business opportunity.
After evaluating hundreds of the "so-called" online business opportunities, Ed found this business and recognized the three most important factors when evaluating an existing online business model.
However, since there are a lot of “get rich quick” scams out there, he decided that it would be wise to do some research to determine if this was a real opportunity. He learned that the company had been in business for 16 years, which heavily contributed to his decision to get involved. “My experience as a college administrator showed me that online continuing education is the future of education.
I’d seen it first hand in my previous career as well as in my technology business”, he says. So, he borrowed the money to get started from his 401K and was determined to be a success. He began part-time, while he continued at the college until his contract expired. By this time, he had earned enough to cover his salary at the college. Three months later, after earning $16,500, he was able to let his wife quit her job and stay at home with the family. Ed would now be able to support his family and more with this opportunity. He was finally in control of his own destiny.
Since Ed began this journey, he has helped thousands of people from all professional backgrounds to become successful with this same business model he found, and consistently earns a multiple six-figure income working 25-30 hours a week from anywhere he has internet access and a phone! In his 1st year in the online business world, he earned $32,000 in a single month, which was almost as much as his annual salary at the college! “I have been able to buy my wife a brand new car and I got the truck I always wanted. We now have a boat to go out on the lake and go fishing whenever the mood strikes”, Ed explains. In addition, He and Tonya purchased an RV soon after starting this online business venture and on their 1st trip, still earned $3,000 that week - while on vacation!
Another one of the perks of this business is that 6 a.m. wake up calls with one-hour commutes to and from work is a thing of the past. Now his morning begins when he wants it to and his commute is a mere 60-second walk from his bedroom to his home office. He can work a few hours in the morning, take his wife out for a long lunch, and work some more in the afternoon or knock off early and go to a movie with his family any night of the week. They went to the gulf coast recently for a weekend with friends. “On the spur of the moment, we decided to stay over another day and return on Monday instead”, he says. “If I had a regular 9-to-5 job I wouldn’t have that kind of flexibility.” It’s the best of both worlds, to be free to embrace his entrepreneurial roots without the normal headaches of a traditional business.
“With this business model, I’ve have seen people’s lives changed for the better,” he says. “It’s very humbling and gratifying to think I was a part of it. I can lay my head down at night knowing that I’m not just padding my wallet because the products and services we offer have a significant effect on the way people live their dreams. With all the garbage out there in today’s online world, it’s nice to be able to offer people a genuine opportunity.”
